Battlefield 4′s Second Assault DLC is now available completely free for EA Access subscribers. This marks the first time that DLC has been made available to subscribers since the service’s launch.

It should be noted that though Battlefield 4 is available in the EA Access Vault, the DLC can be downloaded separately for free from January 29th to February 28th. Simply head to the EA Access Hub app on the Dashboard and download it.

Second Assault is best known for featuring the return of four different maps, popular with fans, from Battlefield 3. Capture the Flag is also offered as a new game mode for players to try.

For those more excited for Battlefield: Hardline, EA Access subscribers will be happy to hear that the game will get early access support close to release. Stay tuned for more information on the same in the coming months and stay tuned for more information in the coming months.

Battlefield 4’s Second Assault DLC, which initially launched for the Xbox One exclusively in November, is now available for all platforms. This means that Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4 gamers will now be able to experience four fan favourite maps from Battlefield 3 that were initially only available for Premium users.

DICE has also revealed that it will be releasing a new update for the Xbox 360 and PS4 which looks to fix crashes and improve stability, improve Spectator Mode, a weird issue where players could create a watery hole in Silk Road, another weird issue where players couldn’t interact with the M-Com following its destruction in Siege of Shanghai, and much more. This is DICE LA’s first DLC package for Battlefield 4 and after the release of Naval Strike, it will be the key developer for Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand. Stay tuned for more details.

Though EA hasn’t officially confirmed the same, a chat between an Origin user and EA Customer Experience has revealed that Battlefield 4: Second Assault will be releasing on PC in February.

The Customer Experience representative stated that an update would be provided via Battlelog, but if you’re a subscriber to Battlefield Premium, you’ll receive the game two weeks earlier than other consumers. Second Assault first debuted on the Xbox One and contains reworked versions of popular Battlefield 3 maps such as Metro, Operation Firestorm, Caspian Border and Gulf of Oman.

We’re unsure if it’s coming at a good time though since Battlefield 4 multiplayer is still facing a variety of errors and issues – enough for some firms to initiate a class-action lawsuit against EA and DICE. Second Assault is essentially a map which features four fan-favorite maps from the previous game, Battlefield 3. This include Operation Metro, Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman and Operation Firestorm. So in case you were wondering about all the stories being mentioned above, there’s your explanation. These maps are redesigned using Frostbite 3 and new features such as Levolution though. That means improved destructibility, dynamic weather and much more.

Battlefield 4, meanwhile, is set to launch tomorrow on the Xbox One with the Second Assault DLC.

The event will take place in London, with players hand-picked to represent their nation in this Europe vs USA match. Second Assault is the first of five expansion packs heading to Battlefield 4. The DLC will be available first on Xbox One with a subsequent release for other platforms to occur later. Battlefield 4 will release on October 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It will also be out on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe for PS4 with the Xbox One version releasing on November 22nd.

A DLC pack that will be timed exclusive? Wouldn’t be the first time some one tried this, especially after the success of Call of Duty’s DLC deal with Microsoft.

Gameplay was also showcased, which had Tombstone Squad traversing a ship that didn’t waste any time getting torn apart. The scene itself is quite amazing – there are fighter jets situated on the deck just falling off as the ship crumbles. Sure, there hasn’t been much shooting to speak of, but pretty graphics! But seriously, the particle effects including rain and sparks need to be seen.
