Call of Duty: Vanguard Trailer Highlights Explosive Story Mode

A new trailer for Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Vanguard is live and after all of the recent multiplayer details, this one focuses more on the story. It showcases the various theaters of war that players will battle across, from the Pacific and North Africa to the Western and Eastern Fronts. Check it out below.

Acting as a sort of origin story for the special forces Task Force One, Vanguard sees Arthur Kingsley, Polina Petrova (who was the focus of the campaign reveal), Wade Jackson and Lucas Riggs battling against the Nazis. In a sort of alternate history scenario, the majority of the story is set after Hitler’s death with Heinrich Freisinger of the Gestapo now in charge. It’s Task Force One’s duty to take him out.

Of course, this is only one of the campaigns that will be present – Zombies mode, which is handled by Treyarch, also has its own story. As a prologue to the story in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it continues the Dark Aether storyline. Call of Duty: Vanguard is out on November 5th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC so stay tuned for more gameplay in the coming weeks.

Call of Duty: Vanguard – Sun Nerfs and Dognado Removals Coming After Beta

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s cross-platform multiplayer beta has recently wrapped up and Sledgehammer Games has discussed changes coming based on feedback. The developer noted that all reports and gameplay clips have “assisted our developers in squashing bugs, improving features, and refining the maps and modes for launch.” One of the biggest changes is a nerf to the sun, which means reducing its flare on certain maps.

The Attack Dogs killstreak will also be “tweaked” and dognados will be “removed.” Spawns in the kitchen for Hotel Royal, which earned it the “murder kitchen” moniker, will also be tuned. Players can also expect open mic lobbies in Search and Destroy to be closed. In addition to all of this, Sledgehammer is also “taking a thorough pass at weapon balancing, audio mixing, and visibility.” More details on that will be provided later.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to release on November 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Among some of the features that have been confirmed include support for Clans, 12 Operators at launch, weather effects and much more. There’s more than a month until launch so expect plenty of trailers and gameplay footage until then.

Hackers Have Already Ruined Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Open Beta

As soon as Activision opened the cross-platform play for the Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s open beta, hackers seem to have flooded into servers. Many fans took to Twitter and other forums to express their views on the matter, which has caused a fair bit of ruckus in the fanbase.

Of course, Call of Duty: Vanguard will be operating on a new anti-cheat system, which has further exacerbated these concerns. This new anti-cheat system will also be incorporated into Warzone with a future update. Call of Duty has already been fighting an uphill battle with cheaters in Warzone, with issues of hacking persisting after several waves of account bans.

Activision also responded to these concerns by saying that bans will be issued to those found guilty of cheating, and the duration of the open beta has also been extended to September 22 across all platforms. Call of Duty: Vanguard releases for most major platforms on November 5 this year.
