Sledgehammer Games recently unloaded lots of new details and gameplay for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer in a new stream. Various features like 20 maps at launch, the return of Tactical Sprint and Gunsmith, and so on have already been noted here. However, there’s a lot more to unpack, like how you can Tactical Sprint through walls and doors.

Clans are also being introduced, providing a range of social features for players (and they’re also cross-gen and cross-platform). In terms of loadouts, the Create A Class system lets you choose a Primary, Secondary, Lethal, Tactical and Perks much like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). There are no Wildcards and the Gunsmith supports up to 10 Attachments, including the new Caliber system.

There will be 12 Operators at launch but six of them are playable in the upcoming beta. They each have their own individual progression and can be leveled up to earn new finishers, charms and so on. Another new addition to multiplayer is Combat Pacing which tells you the “intensity” of a given mode. “Tactical” means fewer players and more time to plan engagements while “Blitz” is fast-paced and chaotic (though there is an option to enable all of them).

Maps will have weather effects including wind and rain, adding more realism to the action. The PC version is being handled once again by Beenox and on top of multi-monitor support, uncapped framerates and extensive settings, there will be accessibility features like improved text readability, adaptive ease-of-use and reducing motion sickness.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is out on November 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out the full stream below to see the game in action.
