As the Empire’s “nuclear option,” Conquest is all about unrelenting brutality, completely dismantling anyone who gets in his way. His role is that of a Striker, with a special punch that can be charged. The longer the distance from an opponent, the faster it hits, making it easier to break through enemy attacks. His Super move is a thing of devastating beauty, especially in the moment of impact.

Of course, that’s not all. Quarter Up also announced that the upcoming open beta will feature Tutorial, Practice and Ranked Modes alongside its ten playable characters and six arenas. Participation is open from April 9th, 10 AM PT to April 11, 9 PM PT, with a free Omni-Man skin available as a reward for the main game.

Finally, the first two DLC characters, out in Summer 2026, have been revealed: Universa, who can drain energy from her opponents, and The Immortal, a Guardians of the Globe member who’s over 3,000 years old. Two additional characters will be revealed in the months ahead, so stay tuned.

Hailed as a powerful enforcer, Anissa is a Striker who excels in close-range combat, rushing down opponents and laying in with combos. Her dash attacks are also strong, helping her close the distance and set up for even more pain.

By comparison, Lucan is a Grappler who likes to throw opponents around. Beware of his hit grabs and low attacks, but don’t think you can escape in the air since he boasts exceptional mobility there. Pair the two together with Omniman, who functions as a Point fighter, and you have a devastating team on your hands.

Invincible VS launches on April 30th, retailing for $49.99 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The roster is looking pretty strong so far, featuring Invincible, Atom Eve, Battle Beast, Cecil Stedman, and more. You can look forward to 18 characters at launch, including the game-exclusive Ella Mental, so expect two more reveals in the coming weeks. But that’s far from the end. As part of the Year 1 Character Pass, four additional characters will be added post-launch.

On top of showcasing her moves, the developer announced a release date: April 30th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Pre-orders are now available with the Standard Edition retailing for $49.99 and including Zero Suit Mark as a bonus (with four variants).

The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $69.99, and alongside the usual Deluxe Cosmetics, you get the Year 1 Character Pass. Two more characters will arrive post-launch in the coming months, with an additional two coming later.

Invincible VS will include 18 characters at launch, so four more don’t feel like the most solid expansion. At least we get the likes of Rex Splode, Monster Girl, Robot, and the GOAT, Cecil Stedman, from the get-go.

Thankfully, as members of the new Guardians of the Globe, they have some potent abilities. Robot can unleash an Iron Man-style laser from his chest alongside missiles, and even call in his ride to run over enemies. Monster Girl’s approach is a bit more straightforward, as she pummels enemies to the ground when not charging through them.

She even boasts a bit of Hyper Armor, not unlike Hulk from Capcom’s Marvel fighting games, capable of shrugging off multiple hits to keep pounding. As far as Super attacks go, Robot can call in a giant version of himself to fire a massive energy laser that decimates opponents. Meanwhile, Monster Girl will punch an enemy into the air, smash them, and temporarily transform back into her human form before dropping a Savage-style elbow.

For those who can’t wait until 2026 to go hands-on with the 3v3 fighter, a closed alpha is confirmed for November 21st to 24th. You can register here, though it’s only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

These include DON’T NOD, Hooded Horse, Thunderful, Thunder Lotus, Serenity Forge, Skybound Entertainment, Raw Fury, Pathea, Wired Digital, poncle, and Cult Games. The appearing titles have yet to be confirmed, but we could see the likes of The Lonesome Guild and Aphelion, the former published by DON’T NOD and out later this month. The latter is developed by the same and launching in 2026.

Hooded Horse could showcase Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, which was suddenly delayed to next year, while Serenity Forge may showcase its horror farming title, Fractured Blooms. How many of these will be available for Game Pass on day one? Time will tell, so stay tuned for more details.

Despite his frail appearance, Cecil possesses all kinds of weaponry, from energy weapons to grenades and teleportation (which works very nicely to juggle opponents). When things get too hairy, he can call in the Reanimen or an orbital strike courtesy of The Hammer. No, it didn’t really stop against Omni-Man, but it’s a spectacle.

Along with Cecil, developer Quarter Up has confirmed registrations for the closed alpha, which goes live later this year, are now available. Head here for more details. The exact content is unknown, but the full game promises between 15 and 20 characters alongside a Story Mode.

The gameplay shown off for Omni-Man put quite a bit of emphasis on the character’s brute strength and incredible speed. The studio has also confirmed that the character is being voiced by JK Simmons once more reprising the role from the Amazon Prime series. The studio has also showcased the gameplay for Invincible VS, and especially Omni-Man, through a full match.

Some of Omni-Man’s special moves include an overhead attack that smashes his opponents to the ground. Boosting the attack also gives the move multiple hits that has the potential to launch the opponent in the air for some more combos. Omni-Man also has a ranged wind blast, as well as an upper cut attack, both of which can be boosted to get multiple hits and open up the opponent to longer combos.

Omni-Man has been described by the developers as being a mobile character with a lot of brute strength that can be used to apply plenty of pressure over the course of a match. Some of his moves giving him super armour – preventing flinching – also help supplement this aspect of his gameplay. Interestingly, Omni-Man’s ultimate ability is completely unblockable, so players will have to rely on reacting in time with appropriate movement to avoid it.

The developers emphasise the fact that Invincible VS will focus quite a bit on each character in its roster having a specific role. Mixing up different kinds of assists that each character is capable of will be a major factor for team composition in a typical match, and players will have to figure out how to deal with opposing teams while also having a deeper understanding of their own characters.

As for general gameplay, we also look at some of the more unique mechanics of Invincible VS, such as how different moves can transition into tags to bring in other characters for longer combos. Some of the assists are also shown off, like Omni-Man’s uppercut serving as an excellent counter to opponents jumping in to close range.

Another interesting mechanic that was showcased was how stage transitions will work. If a character is in a “crumpled” state, denoted by them falling to their knees, they can then be smashed into a side to trigger a stage transitions. Doing so gives the attacker an incredible buff, raising the regeneration speed of their boost meter while also disabling the defender’s assist characters for ten whole seconds.

While we still don’t know how deep the roster of the upcoming fighting game will be, the studio has stated that there will be between 15 and 20 characters in the game. Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has also said that there’s a 99 percent chance that a character that a player might want will be part of the game’s roster.

“We haven’t announced an exact number yet, but I can tell you that it’s going to be probably more than people think,” said Eder. “I can say between 15 and 20 for the launch roster.” He also went on to explain that while the roster will lean towards featuring characters from the Amazon Prime adaptation of Invincible, we will also see characters from the original comics as well.

“We lean more on the show for the most part,” he explained. “But we do have certain elements that have not yet been shown there. Either characters or certain things that are going to be shown in the upcoming seasons. We want them to be represented in our game. We are fully immersed in both the show and the comics.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Eder also spoke about how Invincible VS is being designed from the ground up as being a game for the fighting game community to enjoy. This includes adding in gameplay elements and mechanics that will be appreciated by fighting game players that like to learn about the complexities of a given game.

“We’ve been very clear that the game definitely caters towards an FGC crowd,” he said. “People who really live and breathe fighting games. They’re going to take the time to understand all the intricacies and the complexities of the fighting system. But we always keep the casual gamer in mind.”

While Eder has given us a closer approximation about the kind of roster we can expect from Invincible VS, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman had teased back in July that the fighting game will feature plenty of characters from the series. Without revealing too many details, he said that there was a “99%” chance that whatever character that a player might want to play will be available in the game.

“There’s so much care being put into being true to the Invincible universe,” Kirkman said. “So if you’re a fan of the comics or the show and you’re like, ‘Oh, there’s a fighting game coming, who would I like to be in that fighting game?’ There’s a 99% chance they’re going to be in the game. I’ll just say that. That’s a spoiler. I might get in trouble for that. I don’t know.”

“The lineup is going to be absolutely insane. I’m so glad that we announced Battle Beast. You can’t do an Invincible fighting game without having Battle Beast be one of the playable characters. There are other characters like that that will more than likely be in the game. So, we’ll see. We’ve got a lot of announcements to roll out. There’s a really great team working on this, and I can’t wait for people to see everything that’s going into it.”

Invincible VS is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The title doesn’t yet have a release date, however. For an example of what kind of characters you can expect from the game, check out the Omni-Man trailer from earlier this month.

Omni-Man’s gameplay seems to revolve quite a bit around aerial combo strings, which can end with a flourish by the character grabbing his opponents by their legs and slamming them into the ground. The trailer also confirms that Omni-Man will have strong anti-air options thanks to an uppercut attack that can also be powered up to give the character some invincibility frames.

Through the trailer, we also get a look at some of the unique voice lines that Omni-Man will have in the midst of a fight. Alongside other callouts where he taunts his opponents, the character will also be able to pull off his famous “think” line while beating the tar out of his enemies.

Since the game was first announced back in early June, there have been a few videos showcasing the game that also featured prominent figures from the fighting game community. These figures range from professional players that take part in major tournaments, tournament organisers, and even commentators. One of the videos that was released for the title last month focused on developers taking feedback from the fighting game community. An earlier video gave us a look at some of the behind-the-scenes action for the game, and featured developers talking about actually making Invincible VS.

Invincible VS is going to be a 3-on-3 tag fighting game and is slated for release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S some time next year. Check out its announcement trailer for more details.

Invincible VS doesn’t yet have a solid release date other than a general 2026 window. When asked about this, Kirkman responded by saying that it will be out “sooner than you think… but next year. I’m not being specific.”

Earlier this month, we got to see a video about Invincible VS where the developers responded to feedback from prominent members of the fighting game community, including Community Effort Orlando (CEO) organiser Kizzie Kay and fighting game commentator Michael Kwon. Both discussed how faithfully the game captures the overall vibe of the Amazon series.

“I mean, just watching season one, episode one, I think everyone was like mind-blown after that episode, and it’s just like ‘Oh, dang, they’re translating that into the video game,’” said Kwon. “It’s like everybody’s head’s popping off.”

Game director Dave Hall also spoke about how important it was for the studio to make Invincible VS feel authentic by capturing the “big things”, like the speed, scale and power of some of the characters from the original stories.
