In case there was literally any question about it, yes, the Nintendo Switch was the highest selling console in Japan again last week, selling more than every other system in Japan put together with 53,745 units sold. The beleaguered PS4 came in at second place, and actually managed to see a slight bump, with its 20,309 units representing a slight improvement over the 17,000 units it sold last week. The 3DS rounded out the top three, with 11,577 units sold- again, an improvement over last week.

Over on the software front, Octopath Traveler, which topped charts last week, saw its position suffer due to the chronic shortages it has suffered from in Japan, and fell to second place with only some 20,000 units sold. First place, instead, went to the Switch version of Taiko, which managed to post nearly 70,000 units sold. Meanwhile, evergreen games such as *takes a deep breath* Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Kirby Star Allies, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Mario Tennis Aces, and, yes, Detroit: Become Human, continued to do great as well.
