Along with releasing for PS4 later this year, Arc System Works will also bring Guilty Gear Strive to arcades. According to the developer’s website, the arcade version will be available in Japan. Which is understandable since arcades are plentiful in the country while being virtually extinct in the West.

Although the PS4 closed beta will be available for EVO 2020 Japan attendees to play, the arcade version will have a separate demo. It’ll be available at Japan Amusement Expo 2020 next month. Everyone else can expect the PS4 beta to be available sometime this Spring.

Guilty Gear Strive doesn’t have a release date yet but the developer did release a new trailer showcasing Faust and promised two more trailers in March. The title is out in late 2020 and has seen some major changes from previous games to allow for easier viewing. Stay tuned for more details on its release in the coming months.

Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear Strive ended on a cliffhanger in the last trailer as we saw the return of the bizarre Faust. At Frosty Faustings XII, the developer offered a better look at Faust’s moveset. Long story short, he’s more terrifying but also not shy to bestow an Afro upon his foe. Check out the trailer below.

Some of Faust’s other moves include ingesting his opponent and spitting them out through a wormhole (it’s as weird as it sounds) and “fishing” with his giant scalpel. More trailers will be released at Brussels Challenge 2020 and Final Round 2020 which take place from March 20th to 22nd. It’s unclear if more characters will be revealed.

Current plans for Guilty Gear Strive include a closed beta test for this Spring (EVO 2020 Japan attendees get to try it first). More details on how to participate will likely be revealed in March. Many in the fighting games community are looking forward to the launch of Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear Strive, and for good reason, too. The fighter’s looked slick in whatever’s been shown of it so far, and soon, select players will also have the chance to go hands-on with the game and get a feel for it themselves.

Arc System Works have confirmed that a closed online beta for Guilty Gear Strive will go live in Spring of 2020. However, it seems the beta will be made available first of all to EVO Japan 2020 attendees- those attending the event will have to play the game during specific demo times, and fill out a survey afterward. No date has been provided for when this beta will go live either.

Guilty Gear Strive is currently targeting a late 2020 release for the PS4, but given that timeframe, one can’t help but wonder whether it might end up being a cross-gen title. You can check out a to of new gameplay footage from the fighter through here.

The next installment in the Guilty Gear series, Guilty Gear Strive, was announced and, boy, does it look pretty gorgeous. The games have always had a sharp, anime hand drawn style, but Strive takes things to a new level. But as familiar as it is, there’s been changes that have raised some eyebrows to hardcore fans. The games were always pretty technical, even by fighting game standards, but it seems the game will strive (no pun intended) to create a more simplified control scheme. How that will pan out is something we’ll just have to wait and see about, but why was it done? Well, it’s all about the views.

In an interview with Gearnuke, General Director Daisuke Ishiwatari said they’ve wanted to simplify the controls to help those watching the game’s have a better sense of what’s happening in a match. It’s something they’ve slowly been doing with previous titles, such as the recent Dragon Ball: FighterZ, and it seems Strive is an end point in that regard.

“So I think this is true for a lot of Arc System Works fighting games, but unless you are somewhat familiar with fighting games and more specifically Arc System Works fighting games its kind of hard to follow what’s going on on the screen. So you might look at a screen, look at a match for a few minutes and wonder what’s going on, what’s the situation. And it’s a very fast-paced type of game. So our biggest goal with New Guilty Gear wasn’t to make the controls easier by any means it was to make it easy to watch, that was a very high-level concept. So the viewer, they could just sit down in the middle of a match and know this guy is on offense, this guy is on defense, this guy is kind of feeling the pressure right now, he’s under pressure, you could tell that by watching the screen. That was a big part of the game. So making the controls easy might have been a derivative by-product of that, but that wasn’t necessarily what we set out to do. And I think the most important thing was to preserve the identity of Guilty Gear which is really letting the players and their imaginations come up with new combos, new set-ups and giving them the tools to be able to do that.”

How well this end up working at the end of the day is anyone’s guess, and odds are it’ll still be something that many players probably still won’t manage to get a good grasp on. Well, we’ll see what it’s like when Guilty Gear Strive launches in 2020.

The next Guilty Gear from Arc System Works and Team Red officially has a name: Guilty Gear Strive. Revealed at ARCREVO America 2019, the game is out in late 2020 for PS4. Check out the new trailer below which shows a compilation of all the fighters thus far.

Of course there’s a new fighter revealed at the end. This time it’s Faust, who’s looking a bit less comical and way more terrifying than previous games. A new demo and trailer will be coming at Frosty Faustings XII on January 17th to 18th 2020 so we’ll hopefully see Faust in action (and maybe another new fighter).

A playable demo will also be available at EVO Championship Series Japan 2020 on January 24th to 26th 2020. With all the changes being made to streamline the mechanics, there will be plenty of time to see just how well the gameplay is received. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.

Arc System Works released a new trailer for the next Guilty Gear game, revealing the two mystery characters it teased last month. These are Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin. More importantly, we get some rocking new tracks to showcase their explosive moves. Check out the trailer below.

A livestream was also held by the development team in which it confirmed a closed online beta test. This will take place in Spring 2020 but it’s unclear whether the beta will be available worldwide. Thankfully, there’s plenty of new gameplay to be had with characters like Axl Low, Sol Badguy, May and Ky Kiske along with Chipp and Potemkin.

Those attending the ArcRevo World Tour Final 2019 on November 16th and 17th will get their hands on the latest demo and try out all six characters. Guilty Gear will release in 2020 for PS4. Stay tuned for more details and potential new character reveals in the coming weeks.

Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear (title pending) has received a new trailer at SEA MAJOR 2019, showcasing the returning Axl Low. A time-traveler who fights with kusarigama, a couple of his moves and combos are showcased against the various fighters. Check it out below.

This is the third trailer for the game thus far – the first debuted at EVO 2019 and featured Ky Kiske, Sol Badguy and a new, unnamed fighter. Another trailer followed which teased the returning May, though her appearance is older. May would receive her own trailer later, which would also tease the appearance of Axl Low.

A playable demo for the game will be available at ARCREVO America 2019 with the above four characters and two yet-to-be-revealed fighters. Fans can expect the next trailer on November 3rd at 4 PM PST so hopefully we’ll learn their identities. Guilty Gear will be releasing next year and has thus far been confirmed for PS4.
