RoadCraft and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound are also coming to the same tiers tomorrow, making for an already packed week. However, January 27th sees the arrival of The Talos Principle 2 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, followed by Anno: Mutationem and Drop Duchy on January 28th. All three titles will be available for Ultimate, PC and Premium subscribers.

On January 29th, you can look forward to another heavy hitter – MySims: Cozy Bundle. Oh, and a little something called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, one of the best third-person shooters available. Truly the Barbenheimer of our times.

February 2nd sees the addition of Indika for Ultimate and PC Game Pass, followed by Final Fantasy 2 on February 3rd. The latter follows the arrival of the first game in Squaresoft’s legendary series, so at this rate, we can probably experience Final Fantasy 16 by next year.

Unfortunately, as with every new Game Pass wave, some titles are being removed from the service’s library. From January 31st, you’ll no longer have access to the following:

• Shady Part of Me (Cloud, PC, and Console)
• Cataclismo (PC)
• Starbound (Cloud, PC, and Console)
• Lonely Mountains Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Console)
• Paw Patrol World (Cloud, PC, and Console)
• Citizen Sleeper 2 Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Console)
• Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Console)

It might not completely take the sting away from GTA 6’s delay, but it remains one of the best games ever made. Of course, for those who can’t experience it on PS5, the PS4 version is also available. Other notable titles this month include rogue-like driving title Pacific Drive (which recently got an expansion) and first-person narrative horror Still Wakes the Deep, both playable on PS5.

Multiplayer fans who enjoyed Battlefield 6 might want to check out Insurgency: Sandstorm, which offers another modern setting with realistic gunplay on PS4 and PS5. If you’re keen on something more light-hearted, there’s the British comedy title Thank Goodness You’re Here! Another underrated addition, at least for puzzle gamers, is The Talos Principle 2 (with the original receiving a remaster earlier this year).

Monster Jam Showdown and MotoGP 25 offer solid racing, while Premium subscribers get access to Tomb Raider: Anniversary on PS5 and PS4.

The Talos Principle 2: Road to Elysium will take players deeper into the game’s world where they will also get to reunite with characters and solve some more puzzles. The events of the expansion will follow up on the events of The Talos Principle 2, as its robot world continues to evolve.

The three parts of Road to Elysium are love, death, and resurrection. Players will experience the story of Hypatia and Sarabahl as they solve the new puzzles throughout the expansion. The expansion will also expand on the base game’s story by offering a more uplifting ending.

According to the expansion’s description, it will feature new medium-difficulty puzzles, while at the same time also offering players a chance to relax with its new beaches and tropical forest.

The Talos Princinple 2: Road to Elysium is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Developer Croteam is seemingly teasing some sort of an announcement related to The Talos Principle 2. Taking to Twitter, the studio recently tweeted out a screenshot from the game, along with tease that reads, “Summer is here, and there’s big news on the horizon.”

There isn’t, of course, any explicit confirmation that an expansion is what’s being teased here, but given the fact that Croteam also supported the first game with post-launch DLC, there’s a chance that the developer is looking to stick to that pattern with the sequel.

There’s no shortage of major events coming up in the next few days, with Summer Game Fest set for June 7 and The Talos Principle 2 publisher Devolver Digital’s own Devolver Direct following later in the day, so it’s entirely possible that an announcement for an expansion is made in the coming days.

The Talos Principle 2 takes place in the far-flung future, with players assuming control of 1K. After meeting a mysterious entity, they embark with others to the megastructure, which has lain dormant. You solve puzzles and explore gorgeous environments, but more questions arise regarding humanity, civilization and life.

With 12 regions to explore and more than 100 puzzles to complete, The Talos Principle 2 is about 20 to 30 hours long per the publisher. However, you don’t need to finish every single puzzle and can return to them later if you want to focus on the story. A free demo is live on Steam, offering a bit of the early parts before shifting to “roughly a halfway point.” Progress doesn’t transfer to the game, sadly.

As with the previous game, players explore a variety of lush environments, solving puzzles to progress. Along the way, they’ll muse about humanity and the quest for knowledge, though some secrets are seemingly better left buried. There are over 100 puzzles across 12 regions, but you can complete every single one or skip some and experience the story.

Overall playtime is estimated to be 20 to 30 hours, though it’s unknown if this means solving all puzzles or experiencing the side content.

Along with some bridge building, laser alignment and whatnot (among the +100 puzzles), there is some hefty exploration in the sequel. Players will also receive hints about humanity’s past and even encounter the Sphinx, who has some riddles to share. There’s even one about Icarus, who flew too close to the sun, and you can choose to say his error was making wings out of wax.

While we know about the 12 new regions, players can expect more than 100 puzzles. If you’re in it for the story, then good news – there’s a Decryption Key for skipping the tougher puzzles and returning to them later.

The demo is “specially tailored,” meaning your progress will not carry over into the game. It offers a taste of the puzzles encountered early on, then moves to “roughly a halfway point.” It’s to demonstrate how they “evolve,” likely in the overall complexity and mechanics required.

Croteam already confirmed new systems like manipulating gravity and transferring one’s mind, which can be seen in the trailer, so we’ll see how deep the rabbit hole goes. There are also over 12 gorgeous environments to explore and unearth secrets for, not to mention a litany of robots to interact with.
