The next free slate of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe will be coming up on June 5th and Sony has announced what they can expect. PS4 players get Firaxis’s XCOM 2 and Ubisoft’s Trials Fusion, both strong releases with tons of content to play through.

XCOM 2 takes place directly after the first modern title and sees the aliens taking over the planet, establishing a dystopian regime. As the Commander, it’s your job to guide the resistance on a variety of missions and eventually topple the aliens. Trials Fusion is a more futuristic bent for the franchise, taking place in the year 2042, but still featuring a lot of the platforming/racing that players love.

Along with these games are two PS3 titles – Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Zombie Driver HD Complete Edition – along with PlayStation Vita games – Squares and Atomic Ninjas. All of these games will be available when the PlayStation Store refreshes on Tuesday so stay tuned.

It looks like a sequel to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier might be in the works at Ubisoft, and apparently, the team at Ubisoft Kiev, who handled the PC port of the first game, is also going to be working closely with the main development team.

A keen eyed fan has spotted the words ‘GRFS: Next’ in a slide from Ubisoft Kiev’s annual meeting, in a phrase that says “‘GRFS: Next’ team wants to work with us.”

The ‘tough conditions’ under which the PC port of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was handled has also been mentioned, as can be seen in the slide above. The PC version of the game received quite a lot of controversial attention, getting announced, then cancelled, then announced again.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier released earlier this year to decent critical and impressive commercial success. But how likely is it that Ubisoft could be working on Ghost Recon: Future Soldier 2?

Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha, the short movie prequel to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, will premiere exclusively on LOVEFiLM.

LOVEFiLM members will be able to stream Ghost Recon Alpha via LOVEFiLM Instant from 3rd May.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha is deeply connected with the upcoming release of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier:

• Characters: Characters present in the movie will be playable characters in the video game.
• Storyline: Their actions in the movie also have direct implications on the video game storyline.
• Location: The location of the movie will also be playable in the game’s multiplayer modes.
• Exclusive unlock: A secret code is also hidden in the movie, enabling access to an exclusive weapon in the game. (unlock available only on Xbox 360 and PC)

Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has gone gold.

In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, join an elite team of highly trained, cut-throat special-ops soldiers. Armed to the teeth with unrivalled combat technology and cutting-edge military hardware, Ghost Recon takes you to the globe’s most deadly warzones to hunt down the highest value targets.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available on May 25th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will be released for Windows PC on June 15th.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta will run from April 19th until May 2nd.

Players will have the opportunity to choose from three classes (Rifleman, Engineer and Scout) and there will be two different modes:

Conflict
• Description: players battle to complete objectives located throughout the map and earn points, the team with the most points at the end of the round wins
• Game session: 1 round of 15 minutes

Saboteur
• Description: a bomb spawns in a central location, both teams compete to retrieve the bomb and be the first to detonate it at the opposing team’s base
• Game session: 1 round of 10 minutes
