										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In its <a href="https://www.segasammy.co.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/pdf/en/ir/20240510_q4_appendix_e-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">latest earnings report</a>, Sega parent company Sega Sammy has revealed that the <em>Persona</em> franchise has sold 5.06 million copies throughout the last financial year. The sales figure, which accounts for FY 2023 (April 2023 to March 2024), includes both digital as well as physical copies of <em>Persona</em> titles.</p>
<p>The earnings report offers up details on the performance of other Sega franchises as well, revealing that the <em>Sonic</em> series has sold 5.92 million copies in the same time frame. The <em>Like a Dragon</em> series—including the two <em>Judgment</em> games—has sold 5.36 million copies, and taking up last place in the list of major Sega IPs is the <em>Total War</em> series, with 1.91 million copies sold.</p>
<p><em>Persona</em> developer Atlus is currently rumoured to be working on the next game in the <em>Persona</em> franchise. Colloquially referred to as <em>Persona 6</em>, the game is <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/persona-6-development-started-in-2019-color-theme-is-green-rumor">rumoured to use the colour green as its main theme</a>, contrasting <em>Persona 5</em>&#8216;s use of red, <em>4</em>&#8216;s use of yellow, and <em>3</em>&#8216;s use of blue.</p>
<p>There are also rumours from earlier that <em>Like a Dragon</em>, <em>Persona,</em> and <em>Sonic</em> will get turned into <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/like-a-dragon-persona-and-sonic-the-hedgehog-will-become-annual-franchises-for-sega-rumor">annual franchises for Sega</a> going forward.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Creative Assembly has announced the release of a new major update for <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaohs-first-dlc-will-be-free-total-war-warhammer-3s-dlc-is-getting-more-content"><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em></a>. The update, titled High Tide, is being accompanied by <a href="https://www.totalwar.com/blog/twp-update-110/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">patch 1.1.0</a> of the game, as well as a launch trailer. that you can check out below under the full patch notes.</p>
<p>High Tide is the first major update released for <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em>, and brings with it a host of new content to the game, including 2 new factions (Sherden and Peleset), more than 30 new units, and new unique mechanics to play around with.</p>
<p>The new mechanics now allow players to pick between different paths thanks to the new &#8220;Forge your own path&#8221; tradition. This allows players to pick either the Path of the Marauder, or the Path of the Sea Peoples. Each of the these paths come with their own unique bonuses and playstyles.</p>
<p>The addition of Sherden and Peleset brings the total number of playable factions up to 10, and the new factions even come with 5 new Deities, along with realm-specific pantheons of Local Deities.</p>
<p><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> was released on PC back in October 2023.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Developer Creative Assembly has <a href="https://www.totalwar.com/blog/message-from-total-war-leadership-dec-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a statement regarding recent negative feedback concerning the pricing for <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-is-out-now"><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em></a>, as well as the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-warhammer-3-developer-responds-to-complaints-about-higher-priced-dlc"><em>Shadows of Change</em> DLC for <em>Total War: Warhammer 3</em></a>. In its statement, the studio acknowledges the mistakes it made with the game as well as communication surrounding it, and as a result, both <em>Total War: PHARAOH </em>and <em>Total War: Warhammer 3</em> will see some changes.</p>
<p>&#8220;It has been a difficult few months, and we recognize that we have made mistakes when it comes to our relationship with you all,&#8221; says the statement. &#8220;It’s been a constant conversation internally on how we can get back to solid ground. What’s clear is that it won’t be easy and that it will take time and effort.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We see the confusion, the frustration, and the distrust of us across the community and honestly, it breaks our hearts. We make games to bring you joy, to inspire a love of history, of fantasy, and strategy games. <em>Total War</em> is our everything, we care about it as deeply as you. Recently, it’s clear that we have failed to demonstrate that in our actions.&#8221;</p>
<p>As part of its plans going forward, Creative Assembly has announced that <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> players on Steam will notice a partial refund having been processed, with funds being added to players&#8217; Steam Wallet. This is due to <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> getting a price cut down to $39.99. The first planned DLC for the game will also be released for free in early 2024.</p>
<p>Going forward, <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> will also see incremental updates. Plans regarding these updates, which will bring in new features like expanded campaign map size and new factions, will be revealed once the new year rolls in.</p>
<p><em>Total War: Warhammer 3</em>, on the other hand, will see an ongoing series of updates. With complaints having stemmed from the last DLC for the game, <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-warhammer-3-shadows-of-change-dlc-announced-out-on-august-31"><em>Shadows of Change</em></a>, being considered not worth its asking price because of a lack of content, the studio has announced a major update for the DLC. Slated for release in February 2024, the update will flesh out the <em>Shadows of Change</em> DLC.</p>
<p>This also means that the planned <em>Thrones of Decay</em> DLC, originally set for a Winter 2023 release window, will now instead be released in April 2024. The studio says that it wants to ensure that <em>Thrones of Decay</em> doesn&#8217;t repeat the mistakes of <em>Shadows of Change</em>.</p>
<p>&#8220;Where we make mistakes in this next part of our journey, we’ll work hard to act faster to address them, to iterate whilst we learn from those moments, and to always be taking steps in the right directions,&#8221; says the studio. &#8220;We hope that you can find patience for us as we find our footing again, and we hope in the coming months we can prove to you with actions along with words.&#8221;</p>
<p><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> and<em> Total War: Warhammer 3</em> are both available on PC.</p>

<p>As its name might imply, <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> takes place in ancient Egypt. The game features three distinct factions based on Bronze-Age Cultures: the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-deep-dive-video-showcases-egyptian-factions-and-their-unique-play-styles">Egyptians</a>, the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-gets-new-deep-dive-trailer-exploring-the-hittite-faction">Hittites</a>, and the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-gets-new-deep-dive-for-canaanite-faction">Canaanites</a>. Each of the three factions has multiple options for leaders, and features distinct play styles, ranging from a focus on infantry during battles, to more diplomatic options.</p>
<p><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> also features the new Campaign Customisation feature, which gives player a greater level of control to decide just how their campaign will play out. Options include random starting positions, settings for resource distribution, and the ability to toy with natural disasters.</p>

This time around, the studio has decided to focus on the Hittite faction, giving us a look at some of its gameplay, as well as tidbits of the real history behind the faction. Check it out below.</p>
<p>The Hittite faction will feature two playable leaders: Suppiluliuma and Kurunta. Where Suppiluliuma is known as the Defender, Kurunta was instead known as the Usurper. These titles also translate into gameplay, with Suppiluliuma focusing more on defenses, including legions of heavy and medium armored units. Kurunta, instead, focuses more on sabotage and subterfuge in gameplay.</p>
<p>A key thing that sets the Hittite faction apart from the <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-deep-dive-video-showcases-egyptian-factions-and-their-unique-play-styles">Egyptian</a> and <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-gets-new-deep-dive-for-canaanite-faction">Canaanite</a> factions is the fact that the former tends to deploy much heavier units in battle. <p>According to <a href="https://www.eurogamer.net/total-war-pharaoh-has-been-delayed-into-2024-but-only-on-the-epic-games-store" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eurogamer</a>, Creative Assembly has stated that the delay was made in order to incorporate Epic Games Launcher&#8217;s social features into the game. The studio states that it was &#8220;recently asked to help support the integration of social functions before we can launch on the Epic Games Store&#8221;, and that it will, as such, &#8220;need additional time to help make that happen&#8221;.</p>
<p>Whether this will make it difficult for the different PC releases of <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> to feature cross-play hasn&#8217;t been elaborated on, since Steam&#8217;s social features tend to be incompatible with others, requiring publishers and developers to use their own social platforms for cross=play.</p>

<p>The deep dive talks about two of the playable Canaanite warlords: Isru the ravager and Bay the schemer. As their titles would imply, the two warlords play in different ways, with one featuring aggression and brute strength, while the other features a clandestine play style that revolves around spycraft.</p>
<p>The Canaanite faction will also feature a different take on the military than the Egyptian factions, since it needs to counter its opponents&#8217; heavy armour and speed. The Canaanite military will have an emphasis on adaptability during combat, as well as medium-armoured forces.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Developer Creative Assembly has released a new Dev Diary video for its upcoming strategy game <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/total-war-pharaoh-deep-dive-video-showcases-egyptian-factions-and-their-unique-play-styles"><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em></a>. The video gives us a look at some gameplay from an early alpha build of the title, and shows off some of its new features and gameplay mechanics.</p>
<p>One of the biggest new features for the franchise will be <em>Total War: PHARAOH</em>&#8216;s new dynamic weather system. The system will essentially allow the weather to change in the middle of battles, potentially affecting how battles can play out quite a bit.</p>
<p>The game will feature a few different weather changes, including rain, fog, storm, thunderstorm, sandstorm, and sweltering weather. These will effect different units in different ways.</p>
<p>For example, rain can potentially create patches of mud in the battlefield, introducing a new obstacle that players will have to deal with, and could take advantage of.</p>
<p>Different factions will also feature different types of units equipped with different gear, which can in turn be affected by the weather system as well. For example, the heavy chariot-using Hittites will face difficulties in muddy terrain.</p>
<p>Each faction will also have unique mechanics, but with the twist that players can choose different faction mechanics depending on their preferred style of play.</p>

It&#8217;s coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in October. Check out the announcement trailer below, which features more than a few teases of war.</p>
<p>Set in ancient Egypt, with Pharaoh Merneptah&#8217;s reign ending, society is in an uproar as many seek to become the next Pharaoh. You&#8217;ll choose from eight Faction Leaders, each with unique abilities and units, and expand your empire across Egypt, Anatolia and Canaan. As with previous titles, you can capture the throne through diplomacy or outright war.</p>
<p>Those seeking war will encounter weather changes like rain and sandstorms, which affect the terrain and fire, which can devastate the battlefield. There&#8217;s also a new Campaign Customization option, which randomizes starting positions for factions, tweaks natural disasters and resources, and much more. You can make a playthrough as challenging or as easy as possible.</p>
<p><em>Total War: PHARAOH</em> has three versions &#8211; Standard ($59.99) offers the base game, while Deluxe also includes Faction Pack 1 and a digital soundtrack. The Dynasty Edition adds two more Faction Packs and a Campaign Pack on top of that.</p>
