It’s the middle of the month, which means certain Games With Gold titles on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 go out of circulation and others come in. Today, Beyond Good and Evil HD will be available free for Xbox 360 while WWE 2K16 will be available free on Xbox One.

Thanks to backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, Beyond Good and Evil HD will also be available to Xbox One users.

Beyond Good and Evil HD is perhaps one of Ubisoft’s most under-rated games, combining a great story with stealth and platforming. WWE 2K16, meanwhile, is yet another wrestling title from Visual Concepts and Yuke’s that features animation glitches, wonky mechanics and…well, it doesn’t really matter since you can make Daniel Bryan the champion of everything.

Don’t worry, fans of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate – it’s still available for free until August 31st. What are your thoughts on the newest Games With Gold? Let us know below.

Some big names are coming to Xbox Live next month.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be receiving quite the eclectic selection of free games with August’s Games With Gold initiative. Thanks to the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 titles, that means four free games for next month.

Xbox One titles include Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate, which is free for the entire month, and WWE 2K16 which will be free from August 16th to September 15th. For Xbox 360 players, there’s Spelunky from August 1st to August 15th and Beyond Good & Evil HD which will be available from August 16 till August 31st.

And honestly? You should be picking up Beyond Good & Evil HD. It’s just that good. Some of July’s free Games With Gold, like Tumblestone, are still available till August 15th so you might want to hurry up and download them now.

2K Games announced earlier in the week that WWE 2K16, the latest iteration in the franchise that actually launched on current and previous gen consoles in October 2015, would be heading to PC. The PC version will include all the previously launched DLC for no extra cost which is a bonus.

If you’re in India, you can pre-order the PC version of WWE 2K16 from Games The Shop and pick up an exclusive WWE T-shirt with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s signature skull on it. The game is only available in the digital format but it costs Rs. 999 only.

WWE 2K16 includes the largest roster in the series till date, including Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator. The new Showcase Mode highlights the rise of Steve Austin in WWE and there have been the usual changes to Create A Wrestler, WWE Universe mode and much more. Will you be picking WWE 2K16 up on PC? Let us know in the comments.

Launches with all previously released DLC content.

2K Games’ WWE 2K16 will be releasing for PC on March 11th. This is following its release on PS4 and Xbox One in October 2015.

WWE 2K16 features the largest roster in the series’ history and also includes Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator (two playable versions of the same) and 2K Showcase which focuses on the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin in the WWE, from his breakout in King of the Ring to the Austin 3:16 era.

PC players can rejoice since all of the previously release DLC will be available on PC at no extra cost. WWE 2K16 actually introduces a few interesting systems to the traditional gameplay and switches up all the reversal spamming that hindered the series. It’s still a wrestling game though so don’t expect revolutionary changes.

Will you be picking up WWE 2K16 on PC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is, at this point, three years old, and already the highest selling game of all time, having sold an absurd 55 million copies- how much higher can it go, right? Considering how old it is now, you’d think its sales would eventually slow down. This is, after all, an industry that thrives on short attention spans, and giving us the ‘next big thing.’

It turns out that whenever GTA 5‘s sales do slow down, it isn’t going to be anytime soon- the game has added another 5 million units to its overall tally, bringing its total worldwide sales to a massive, staggering 60 million units sold- on average, GTA 5 has sold 12 million copies across each of the systems it is available on.

GTA 5 was the headlining game for Take Two’s latest financial release, but their other games apparently did well, too. “During the holiday season, Take-Two enjoyed immense consumer demand for its recent releases and catalog, enabling the Company to deliver another quarter of strong revenue, Non-GAAP earnings and cash flow,” said CEO Strauss Zelnick. “These outstanding results were driven by robust sales of Grand Theft Auto 5, NBA 2K16 and WWE 2K16, along with our highest-ever revenue from recurrent consumer spending.

“As a result of our third quarter outperformance and solid forecast for the balance of the year, we are once again raising our financial outlook for fiscal 2016, which is poised to be another year of meaningful profits for Take-Two. Looking ahead, we have an extensive development pipeline that positions our Company for revenue growth and margin expansion over the long-term. We are excited about this Friday’s release of XCOM 2, which has received stellar early review scores, and anticipation already is building for the fiscal 2017 launches of Battleborn and Mafia III.”

Man, these guys are silently becoming one of the biggest publishers in the industry.

The newest DLC can wipe your Universe Mode save data.

WWE 2K16 players, don’t be too on top of things- 2K Games has just issued an advisory against downloading the Future Stars DLC that was recently released for the game, warning that downloading it can cause corruption of save data.

“We’re aware of an issue some users are experiencing with Universe Mode save data connected to the Future Stars Pack DLC,” 2K wrote in an update on its forum. “After initial investigation, we’ve found this issue only affects PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will not experience this issue.

“If you are an active Universe Mode player on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we recommend waiting to download the Future Stars Pack until we fully investigate and resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience.”

Basically, don’t get it if you have a current generation version of the game, not until 2K advises otherwise. We’ll keep you posted.

For those who missed out on having the Arnold “The Terminator” Schwarzenegger DLC Pack for WWE 2K16 as a pre-order bonus, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s now available as a standalone purchase for the game. Check out the latest trailer for the DLC which showcases two different outfits for The Terminator along with some of the moves he can use (complete with some spiffy metallic dings for hits).

WWE 2K16 released this past October to decent reviews, receiving praise for its large roster of characters and Showcase modes. We personally found it to be an uneventful evolution in the WWE 2K series though it had its fun moments with friends. You can check out our complete review here for more information.

For those who enjoyed the game though, you can pick up the Arnold “The Terminator” Schwarzenegger DLC Pack for PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 now. Thoughts on the gameplay trailer? Let us know in the comments.

The latest in 2K Games' series under-delivers in many key areas, much like the WWE currently.

Somewhere along the way, World Wrestling Entertainment decided to be more about the stars of yesteryears and less about the athletes. It’s incredible to behold because talents like Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan (injured), CM Punk (now signed to UFC), Kalisto, Adrian Neville and many more seemingly flounder in the mid-card while the John Cenas, Randy Ortons, Undertakers, Kanes, Big Shows, etc. receive top billing. This isn’t so much about focusing on legends and established stars as doing very little to innovate outside of the norm.

"The 2K Showcase mode is awesome though. Having watched Stone Cold’s ascent from King of the Ring 1996 and his classic matches with Bret “The Hitman” Hart all the way to his war with D-Generation X, it was a real treat to see this mode capture some of the best moments in WWE history."

The metamorphosis is amazing because it perfectly mirrors that of WWE 2K15’s transition to WWE 2K16. While last year’s edition did focus on rivalries like Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H, it also had John Cena vs. CM Punk. Sure, it was by all means a let-down over WWE 2K14 which had Defeat the Streak and 30 Years of Wrestlemania but WWE 2K16 seems to narrow the scope further, focusing purely on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s rise and career in 2K Showcase. While the latest iteration of the annual wrestler from Yuke’s and Visual Concepts looks better on Xbox One and PS4 compared to last year, there are still plenty of ways it’s decidedly not “best for business”.

Let’s start with the positive – the Create a Wrestler system is better than before and presents a whole lot more variety when it comes to creating your Superstar. My Career mode also feels better over last year with players capable of forming alliances and being able to influence their careers depending on how they align with The Authority. WWE Universe can still be a decent distraction but in this, as well as My Career mode, it’s annoying to constantly be pitted in the same matches with the same people. Yes, I get that this is how you build a “rivalry” but should every second person I face be a “rivalry” that goes on for months on end?

The 2K Showcase mode is awesome though. Having watched Stone Cold’s ascent from King of the Ring 1996 and his classic matches with Bret “The Hitman” Hart all the way to his war with D-Generation X, it was a real treat to see this mode capture some of the best moments in WWE history. The matches themselves and the additional objectives provided weren’t half bad either, and the ability to unlock various little side-matches while progressing through the main timeline gives plenty of incentive to learn more about Steve Austin outside of his more famous moments. Also, the mini-documentaries which provide context to each event and upcoming match are excellent. If only Visual Concepts and Yuke’s could add more Showcases in a single year. Then again, one has to get that DLC money somehow and we can only hope that we get more impressive Showcases this year.

"In matches where six players are going at it for Money in the Bank, you won’t exactly be making use of much else besides the ol’ running grapple, reversals and strikes (not that there’s much technical wizardry in Ladder matches anyway)."

At least the roster is suitably large this year. Aside from important omissions like the Four Horsewomen – Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Bailey and Sasha Banks – you’ll find just about every Superstar and Diva here along with several variations of the base character. Some of these stats will no doubt upset hardcore fans of certain wrestlers but hey, the variety is great (ever wanted to see Sting vs. The Terminator? Well, here’s your chance). It’s also great that certain modes that were missing from last year have returned, like the Ladder Tag Match, Tornado Tags and Handicap Tags.

Yuke’s and Visual Concepts also took significant steps to alter the grappling system this year. You now have a set number of reversals that can be used, which recharge over time. You’ll also have new mini-games for chain grappling (which takes a rock-paper-scissors approach to one-upping foes), submissions and pinning. Rest holds, dirty pins and more are also neat additions and they allow for a fairly more tactical approach to the action. Here’s the quandary though – they’re best suited for tag team matches or singles matches. In matches where six players are going at it for Money in the Bank, you won’t exactly be making use of much else besides the ol’ running grapple, reversals and strikes (not that there’s much technical wizardry in Ladder matches anyway). That being said, these are welcome additions and make the actual fighting feel more competitive.

What doesn’t help WWE 2K16 are the glitches. Oh, the glitches. Ladders suddenly prop up like rakes if you hit them in weird places. Superstars may glitch through each other. You may have trouble adapting to all the new systems, especially with the general complexity that the controls offer, and the additional randomness of the glitches doesn’t help. Another note on the commentary – more Jim Ross delivering signature lines, less Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler feeding me the same tripe I’ve been hearing for years on end.

"Honestly, if you’re getting WWE 2K16, it’s either because you’re a huge fan of the series or you want to experience all the chaos and hilarious glitches with your friends."

And though hardcore fans will no doubt note the improvements in visuals, WWE 2K16 continues the series’ tradition of looking seriously drab. Crowd animations aren’t a big leap over last year, some Superstars look off in several ways and overall, and the visual quality doesn’t feel like it’s overcoming its plateau any time soon. Aside from the actual content of the commentary lines, the timing and voice quality is above average in places.

WWE 2K16 isn’t a big evolution but it does include the most comprehensive roster till date, a fun Showcase with Stone Cold Steve Austin and plenty of opportunity for mayhem with friends. Honestly, if you’re getting WWE 2K16, it’s either because you’re a huge fan of the series or you want to experience all the chaos and hilarious glitches with your friends. Your general consumer may struggle to really find much joy after a point – heck, as a fan, even I didn’t find much reason impetus to play after a while. You may want to check out WWE 2K16 but keep your expectations low – the product isn’t quite over but it hasn’t achieved full jobber status just yet.

First week sales also 50 percent higher than Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians didn’t disappoint on the hype. According to Gfk Chart-Track, not only did the first person shooter outsell other titles across all platforms in the UK but it also averaged 50 percent higher first week sales than Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Halo 5: Guardians also managed 50 percent higher first week sales than Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which was on top last week but averaged the lowest launch sales for a mainstream Assassin’s Creed title yet. It’s at number two this week though, so the situation isn’t that bad.

FIFA 16 is in third place followed by WWE 2K16 debuting in fourth and Minecraft: Story Mode – which recently released at retail – in fifth place. Grand Theft Auto 5 is in sixth place with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Watch Dogs, LEGO Dimensions and LEGO Jurassic World rounding out the remaining top ten.

Meanwhile, Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition just managed to enter the top 40, debuting at 37th place.
