Developed by panstasz and based on the works of Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft, World of Horror is a roguelite horror role-playing game set in Shiokawa, Japan. There are 14 playable characters and 20 investigations, with players solving puzzles and uncovering clues. Random encounters with fabled demons and figures also await, and each step brings you closer to the world’s end.

World of Horror’s 1-bit art style is also unique, akin to retro graphics while being drawn in MS Paint. If you’ve never interacted with the works of Ito or Lovecraft, beware – there’s a good amount of blood, gore and mutilation. At least the release trailer looks stunning. Check it out below.

The game features mysteries and stories inspired by the cosmic horror genre and Eldritch mythology. it also features procedurally-generated combat encounters, twists, and endings.

World of Horror also features a complete set of modding tools that allows players to develop their own horror stories using the game’s general framework. According to developer Panstasz, World of Horror‘s unique art style has been developed entirely using Microsoft Paint.

The PC version of World of Horror can be grabbed on Steam, Itch.io, and GOG. It is also available as part of PC Game Pass, and by extension, on the Microsoft Store.

The unique indie bartending simulator by publisher Ysbryd Games and developer Sukeban Games, VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, is finally about to come to newer consoles. The game was released for PC and Mac in 2016, and then later ported to the PlayStation Vita in 2017.

The game merges the dystopian bleakness of cyberpunk with the (seemingly) ordinary job of bartending and drink mixing. It features nonlinear gameplay, with the plot being influenced by what drinks you choose to make and how customers that frequent the VA-11 HALL-A bar react to them. The PC version released to much acclaim for its strong writing and unorthodox framing and characters. A sequel, titled N1RV Ann-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is set for 2020.

The game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Switch on May 2^nd, and will cost $14.99, same as it did on PC, Mac, and Vita. You can check out a trailer for the game confirming its launch on newer systems below.
