Tchia generated a fair bit of buzz in the lead up to its launch, and though Awaceb’s tropical open world title released in a fairly packed window, it seems to have carved out a fairly sizeable audience for itself pretty quickly.
Taking to Twitter, the indie developer announced that in the first six weeks after its release, Tchia has been played by over a million players. The game was also available via the PlayStation Game Catalog for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers for no additional cost, so that number isn’t necessarily indicative of its sales. Even so, it has attracted a solid playerbase.
Meanwhile, the developer has also announced that it’s partnering with Maximum Games to release a physical “Oleti” edition of the game, which will also include in-game cosmetics for Tchia’s outfits, her glider, her boat, and her ukulele based on Kepler Interactive’s titles, including Sifu, Scorn, Cat Quest, and the upcoming Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn.
Tchia is available on PS5, PS4, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
