The Epic Games Store Finally Adds Shopping Cart Functionality

Finally, after launching almost three full years ago, you can now add things to a cart if you desire to buy more than 1 item.

It was at the tail end of 2018 that Epic Games announced that it would launch the Epic Games Store, a storefront and client that would serve as a new alternative in the PC space. The store has been a controversial one, largely due to Epic using the practice of buying timed third party exclusives for the storefront, something that was largely absent on PC. There were other criticisms, too, specifically aimed at the store’s lack of features. Things like cloud saves, achievements, wish listing and even a shopping cart were absent at launch. Some of those have been added, and now one more has been remedied.

Epic announced today that, finally, almost three years after launching the store, it will have a shopping cart functionality. It’s pretty self-explanatory, I imagine, but it has been a requested feature for some time since up until this point, you had to buy or add your free games one at a time.

The rumor is that Epic will be giving away up to 15 free games for the holiday season, so the function could definitely come in handy soon.
