The King Of Fighters 15’s Main Illustrator Breaks Down Design For Shun’ei

The fighter hasn't changed much, but has been said to be hitting the gym.

Last week finally saw the official unveiling of The King of Fighter 15. The next entry in the long running SNK fighting series looked similar to the previous game, but has a distinctly sharper look and tone. We haven’t seen much of the game thus far, but one fighter has been shown a tad more than others, and we got a peek at the design process for Shun’ei.

On the official SNK Twitter, the Main Illustrator for KOF, Tomohiro Nakata, made a brief statement about the character. It’s said that they decided not to change his design much since it has become such an iconic look. Things like his headphones, chains and motifs make him somewhat of a difficult character to redesign. They do say that those who are familiar with previous incarnations will be able to see he has been hitting the gym. You can see the short teaser for the character through here.

The King of Fighters 15 does not have platforms or a time frame outside 2021 attached to it yet. More information is set to come at some point this week, so stay tuned.
