The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Sold 2.58 Million Units in Five Days

Nintendo's latest title in the long-running series, starring Zelda for the first time, debuted with strong sales in September.

While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom remain some of Nintendo’s top-selling titles Switch titles, the franchise’s latest is off to strong start. The company announced in its financial results for Q2 of fiscal year 2025 that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom sold 2.58 million units as of September 30th.

The top-down action adventure launched on September 26th for Nintendo Switch, which means it reached this total in just five days. Compare this to the similarly styled The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which sold 3.13 million units in ten days (though it’s a ground-up remake while Echoes of Wisdom is a brand-new title).

Its success is perhaps unsurprising, considering it topped Japanese sales charts in its debut week with 200,121 units sold. Check out our thoughts on the title here – we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the world design, emergent gameplay, and dungeons while criticizing the performance and combat.
