Open and detailed environments
Open gameplay(do whatever you want)
Dragons!
Endless types of weapons, armor, spells and shouts
Skyrim won the award for best game of the year!!!!!!!

The clear winner is Skyrim. 300+ hours to complete the story (never ending side quests), huge and detailed environments (much better graphics than Skyward sword), dragons! and much much much more!!!

And it won the award for game of the year!

Zelda is better; It’s an origin story and the fact that zelda has been around for 25 years, and we have not once gotten the full story and creation of Hyrule and everything else I think it really makes it the game of the decade…more people play Zelda than Elder Scrolls and Nintendo never published a ‘bad’ first party game…

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword wins hands down. The ‘defenders’ of Skyrim in this comment box are obviously immature and are not real gamers. You must have played both games to understand and fully compare. I have played them both, and Skyward Sword wins.
Skyrim has amazing graphics and good content.
Skyward Sword has great graphics and has a great mix, not to mention a story that defeats Skyrim! Skyward Sword isn’t limited to ‘adults’, it’s for all ages and for people that understand that graphics aren’t what makes a game a good game: It’s the gameplay and story as well.

Usually it’s quality over quantity, but Skyrim offers so much content that it’s really difficult to compete with the game. Another thing about skyrim is flexibility: you can be anyone you want, however you want to do it. Sure, it has glitches and sure it’s combat system isn’t the smartest out there, but the thing with skyrim is the sheer amount if stuff you can do and the fact that the game let’s you do whatever you want how ever you want to. “Oh so you give menthes quest to retrieve an ancient artifact, but can I sell the artifact on the market instead of giving it back to you? Sure shy not.” “So you want me to assassinate an important person. Well what if i don’t want to? Then don’t. It won’t prevent you from moving on with the story.” This is what makes Skyrim a real masterpiece of a video game. The player has the power to create his own world, instead of having to follow a linear world that has already been set for you. And the fact that there are mods for the pc users. This isn’t some fanboy talking, this is just someone with an opinion and happens to enjoy one type of video game over another
