The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Confirmed to Cost $70

The price was leaked on the Nintendo eShop before the direct, making this the first Nintendo title to adopt the $70 price tag.

Nintendo released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, its long-awaited sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While it looks good, prepare to pay an additional $10 over the usual price. The game’s Nintendo eShop listing is updated, and it’s confirmed to cost $70.

The price leaked on the eShop across various regions beforehand but was subsequently pulled. At $70, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom looks like the first title developed by Nintendo to inherit this price tag. It joins the likes of PlayStation and Xbox, the latter recently confirming that its first-party titles would cost $70.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out on May 12th for Nintendo Switch. Along with a Standard Edition, there will be a physical Collector’s Edition and a new amiibo of Link at launch. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
