The Order: 1886 – New Details on Neo-Victorian London and Gameplay

The world isn't what it seems, despite the technological advancements.

New details have arrived for Ready At Dawn Studios’ The Order: 1886, releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 4. According to a post on the Official PlayStation Blog, the goal is to make Neo-Victorian London realistic but also adding a new twist to things.

This reflects in the presence of electric street lamps instead of gas lamps and electric signs, and the prominence of electricity throughout the city. There will also be a more advanced version of the London subway, with some sections running above ground through buildings. The Big Ben, St. Paul’s and the Tower Bridge are all present but there will be watch-towers and searchlights in the world.

Airships called Sentinels also patrol the skies, and the Industrial Revolution has helped create advancements in weaponry such as the electricity-firing rifle. You’ll also have a thermite gun for spreading clouds of the material, which can then be ignited with fire. Black power guns are still prominent, and the world is as dirty and smoggy as real-life London during those times. There will also be communicators for keeping in touch with your squad.

Stay tuned for more details as the game is revealed.
