The Sims 4 Domain Name Registered by Electronic Arts

Could the franchise finally be getting a new sequel?

The Sims series has always been one of Electronic Arts’ more popular franchises. You’d consider it odd that there hasn’t been a sequel to the game yet while SimCity receives a horrific social makeover that renders it unplayable in the worst circumstances. But that may be set to change soon.

Apparently, according to WhoIs, the domain name for The Sims 4 had been registered as far as April 2003. Which makes sense – why take chances when you’re the world’s biggest games publisher?

However, the record was last update on April 6th 2013. It could just be standard procedure (it’s actually set to expire next year). Or it could be that EA is making plans for the next game in the franchise.

The Sims is unlike SimCity. Instead of focusing on building an entire city, you take care of an individual or family and manage their daily lives. You can choose to make your Sim a happy, well-adjusted individual or take to utterly destroying him in the most sociopathic way possible.
