The Witcher 2 Mod ToolKit Accidentally Released on Developer Forums

Contains assets to second game, along with tools for quest and storyline creation.

Blink and you miss it. But that didn’t stop several users from gaining access to a mod toolkit for CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings, which was accidentally posted online.

CD Projekt RED community manager Marcin Momot stated on the forums, “Just a word of clarification. We were running some tests on the website and it went public for a brief moment. “Please give us just a little bit more time (it’s almost here!). We apologize for the confusion.”

As of now, no official release date is available. The RedKit is the developer’s attempt to make modding simpler, allowing gamers to create their own quests and worlds complete with complex storylines. The Witcher 2’s kit features assets, textures, shaders, animations, SFX and more from the game to be used as users see fit.

Access to the tools has been blocked following the accidental release. But stay tuned for when it does officially release.
