The Witcher 3 Debuts in UK as Biggest Launch of 2015

Bests Witcher 2 sales by 608 percent.

CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has proven to be a huge success in the UK, according to the latest sales numbers from Gfk Chart-Track. It debuted at the number one spot, unseating Battlefield: Hardline with 53 percent more sell through numbers. It even managed to best The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings which debuted at number one in 2012 with 608 percent more sell through numbers. Yes, triple digits. The PS4 version of the game currently accounts for 63 percent of sales.

Meanwhile, Farming Simulator 15 debuted in second place with Grand Theft Auto 5 in third, FIFA 15 in fourth place and Project CARS in fifth place. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is in sixth place for the previous week as Battlefield: Hardline fell down to seventh place. Mortal Kombat X, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Destiny make up the remainder of the top ten.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt recently saw a new patch on PC with the patch for PS4 and Xbox One due sometime this week.
