Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call has been trademarked in Europe for the Nintendo 3DS this past Christmas Eve, even though the game has yet to release in Japan this Spring. The game has actually been trademarked as “Curtain Call” by Square Enix but that’s enough of an indication all the same.
On one hand, Square Enix trademarked the name in North America several months ago, so it could be more about having the trademark for themselves. There could possibly be a Western release in the near future, but it’ll be a while before this is eventually confirmed by Square Enix.
Curtain Call is the sequel to the original rhythm title that allowed you to choose several different Final Fantasy characters and play to the soundtracks of classic games. The sequel will feature more than 200 songs and +60 characters along with music from Final Fantasy Type-0, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
