Sorry but I think they need like 3 servers for Japan :P Just kidding, I know that's why they started on XBone but don't be naive enough to think that it's not possible on Playstation.

The whole cloud debate has been blown out of proportion. Neither service will have much of an impact on gaming. Do you really think an arena based shooter like Titanfall is benefiting massively from the cloud?. There have been people playing arena based shooters for YEARS without any problems whatsoever. PC gamers have been gaming to different degrees of cloud involvement for a long time and I doubt any of them would be able to tell you if it was a superior experience. Better matchmaking?, more stable servers?. Great... but frankly, I get disconnected from maybe 1 out of every 50 games I play... maybe 1 in 100... this is a solution to a problem that really doesn't exist anymore. Most people playing online competitive games are doing so with solid network connections. Otherwise something like PlanetSide 2 just simply wouldn't work.

Oh yeah, PlanetSide 2. A massive 2000 player per continent game, coming to PS4 at or near launch. But wait, surely PS4 can't even hope to run such a game without teh power of da xbotz cloud!!!.

"I personally talked to both Microsoft and Sony and explained that we need to find a way to have potentially hundreds-of-thousands of dedicated servers at a price point that you can’t get right now. Microsoft realized that player-hosted servers are actually holding back online gaming and that this is something that they could help solve, and ran full-speed with this idea.

The Xbox group came back to us with a way for us to run all of these Titanfall dedicated servers and that lets us push games with more server CPU and higher bandwidth, which lets us have a bigger world, more physics, lots of AI, and potentially a lot more than that!" Well they didn't tell respawn that.

Because they are playing on microsofts servers the same as you playing on microsofts os. Why can't people understand that. Microsoft got rich off of pc not gaming. When you think pc you think microsoft. Windows. Gears of War was also on PC. Once again a microsoft game being played on a Microsoft os. Did it come to ps3 also? No.

Gaikai is for retrieving games. Let's see what they themselves had to say. "I personally talked to both Microsoft and Sony and explained that we need to find a way to have potentially hundreds-of-thousands of dedicated servers at a price point that you can’t get right now. You are mistaken. Titan Fall on PC and Xbox 360 will also utilize Microsoft's servers. Maybe you should go to their website and read about it. For some reason you seem to forget that PC means windows and windows means Microsoft.

In reply to <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/titanfall-developer-interview-shows-possible-ps3ps4-dev-kit#comment-200972">bigevilworldwide</a>.

To address multiple points...the server infrastructure is Microsoft, not strictly XBox One. Titanfall for 360 is being worked on by a different development team than the "next-gen" version. Devs said Titanfall would not have all the nuances that the XBox One version has but also confirmed that it can utilize the cloud/server infrastructure provided by Microsoft. So its not like the PC version cannot. Do you think Microsoft would let Respawn utilize their servers for a PS4 version? No they won't. And unless Sony begins to crop up a server infrastructure that spans the globe since Titanfall will likely be popular in all parts of the world, its not going to happen. Maybe by Titanfall 2, if a sequel is warranted, Sony might be in position to support it.

Gaikai is designed to stream games. Its not designed to be a massive server infrastructure to provide developers access to the cloud or to help aid in dedicated servers for multiplayer. Sony may try to utilize Openstack, but this is different than having a massive server infrastructure in place. Microsoft owns the massive infrastructure. They can provide servers to developers/publishers for free or for a very low cost, depending on what their agenda is. Sony cannot do this. They can rent servers from an outside source but unless they want to lose a lot of money, they have to charge the typical rates. Microsoft can do as they please because they own their infrastructure. Sony will have to invest billions of more dollars into this if they want to match Microsoft as Microsoft has been doing it for years and years through other aspects of their business.
