Titanfall Free to Play Version Coming to Asia

EA is partnering up with Nexon to create a free to play PC version of the shooter.

Electronic Arts has announced that it is partnering with Nexon, which recently worked with Splash Damage on Dirty Bomb, to create a free to play version of Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall for Asia.

Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney told IGN that, “We look forward to working with the talented teams at Respawn and EA and leveraging Nexon’s free-to-play expertise to deliver a new and engaging online game based on Titanfall To the Asian market.”

It should be noted that the game will only be available for PC and at this point, much like Call of Duty Online or Halo Online, it doesn’t seem likely that it will come to the Western market. It’s also worth noting that this doesn’t interfere with any projects that Respawn is currently developing like Titanfall 2. Time will tell how this free to play version pans out honestly.

As for Titanfall 2, it’s only been confirmed to arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC. More details will probably be revealed next year so stay tuned.
