On closer inspection it seems that the objective of this particular scene is to reach the abandoned mission in the distance.

Reach the abandoned mission? I think you mean mansion.

Also for the most part this is just a visual transcript of the trailer…

For example:

Sam and Drake going crashing down in the abandoned mansion.

This is quite obvious. LOL Headline does not match the content.
