2024 has been a big year for Atlus, and Unicorn Overlord has certainly been a highlight. Not only has the fantasy tactical RPG been a big critical success for the company and for developer Vanillaware, it’s also continuing to sell at a steady rate.
Atlus has announced that Unicorn Overlord has now exceeded 1 million units sold worldwide. To commemorate the milestone, the company has also showcased new artwork by Vanillaware’s Takashi Noma, depicting three of the game’s characters in Berengaria, Melisandre, and Rosalinde. Check out the tweet below.
By the end of March, within less than a month of its release, Unicorn Overlord had sold over 500,000 units worldwide, so with as many units sold since then, it’s maintained decent momentum, especially when compared to past Vanillaware titles.
As per job listings emerging earlier in the year, Vanillaware is currently working on a new fantasy action RPG. Read more on that through here.
Unicorn Overlord is available on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. Vanillaware has previously confirmed it doesn’t intend to bring the game to PC.
