Valkyria Chronicles 4 Announced for PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One

Set in the same time frame as the first game, it releases for North America and Europe in 2018.

Following its usual teasing over the past week, Sega has finally announced a new Valkyria game – Valkyria Chronicles 4, set to release in Summer 2018 for the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo in Japan. North America and Europe can also expect it next year but a more concrete launch window is forthcoming. Check out the reveal trailer below where Sega also discusses its development of the game.

Some of the new details revealed by Sega include the setting, which is the same time frame as the very first game but with a new cast. That includes commander Claude Wallace and his motley group of soldiers like engineer Riley Miller, sniper Kai Schulen and so on.

The BLiTZ system is making a comeback and benefits from a new class (the Grenadier), new offensive/defensive battleship support, “Last Stand” actions before a unit goes down and larger scale maps. The game’s signature CANVAS art-style is also coming back along with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto who’s scored the other games in the series. Thoughts on the newest game? Let us know in the comments.
