Wasteland 2 Generates $1.5 Million in Revenue

The sequel to the game that inspired Fallout is already a success.

There’s always a concern for Kickstarter projects, especially old-school RPGs, as to whether they’ll be financially successful. After all, it’s not just that developers are seeking out Kickstarters to float their projects – they also want these projects to earn some money.

So it’s extremely heartening to hear that inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 2 managed to generate $1.5 million in sales since its release. That’s a pretty nifty amount within just four days.

inXile Entertainment’s Brian Fargo, who created the franchise more than 25 years ago, stated that, “We are ecstatic that the style of game we love so much has been embraced so well.”

Wasteland 2 picks up from its predecessor with the player controlling the Desert Rangers, a squad of US Army Engineers looking to restore order to the post-apocalyptic world. After the death of Ace in the original game, you’ll be tasked with finding out about the newest threat to the Rangers and rescuing any survivors.
