inXile Entertainment’s Wasteland 2 is now available today and marks the end of a 2.5 journey for the developer. It comes from the mind of Brian Fargo, the creator of the original Wasteland (which went on to inspire the Fallout franchise), who launched a Kickstarter to get the game off the ground. Through $2,933,252 of funding, making it the third highest funded game on Kickstarter, it’s finally here. Check out the launch trailer above which contains blurbs from other developers.
The key thing to admire about Wasteland 2 is that despite taking place from an isometric perspective, the production values pull you in immediately. The voice work is stellar, the environments are nice and gritty while still looking appealing and some shocking sequences throughout. It makes us all the more excited for inXile’s other big game, Torment: Tides of Numenara.
