Watch Dogs PC Patch in Development, Technical Director Offers Fixes

Sebastien Viard doesn't reveal when the PC patch will arrive though.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is now available on PC and home consoles (barring the Wii U) but suffice to say, the experience has been less than satisfactory for some users. PC users have been experiencing some very severe bugs and the graphical issues of stuttering and lag haven’t been completely resolved.

Graphics technical director Sebastien Viard shared his thoughts on these problems and advised users on what they can do to alleviate them on Twitter.

“Watch Dogs can use 3+ GB of RAM on NG consoles for graphics, your PC GPU needs enough VRAM for ultra options due to the lack of unified memory.

If you experience lag/stutter on a fast PC, try to lower one of those settings to reduce the GPU VRAM usage: texture quality, AA, resolution.”

Viard then confirmed that a PC patch for the game was in the works based on complaints users have made. We’ll provide more information on when it releases in the coming weeks.
