Still no sign of a patch for this excellent game. I desperately want to replay this and buy all the DLC. Bethesda seem to be approaching the PS4 Pro all wrong. I think the mistake was going native 4K on a console that isn't powerful enough. The same thing happened with the Skyrim remaster.

They should have rendered 1440p or 1800p and upscaled using checkerboard rendering to 4K and supersampled down to 1080p. That spreads the workload equally between the 4K and 1080p outputs. Rendering 4K creates and huge workload to supersample the large image down to 1080p, creating frame rate stutters that are totally unplayable.

1080p gamers are the majority of Bethesda's customers, so they should be getting an improvement not an unplayable game.

It still suffers stuttering pans and jerky jumps, compared to the smooth PS4 version. Skyrim is a joy to play on the PS4. It's a real pain to play on the PS4 Pro. It hurts the eyes, gives you a headache and breaks the immersion as you look around.

We now hear that the PS4 Pro patch for Fallout 4 is a mess and Bethesda are struggling to get a smooth frame rate. I was looking forward to replaying this on the Pro and maybe buying the DLC, but it looks like a dud. The frame rate was bad on the PS4, so I want better on the Pro not worse. If Bethesda cannot get the frame rate smooth, they should forget all the fancy graphics and 4K nonsense. Just get the frame rate up and give us a game we can play.

This is the same old story from Bethesda. The Skyrim patch is still bust with a truly awful frame rate that stutters as you pan, forcing me to play it on the PS4 where one of the best game ever made is glorious.

Bethesda have a history of releasing games with horrendous frame rates on Playstation and arrogantly assume that gamers will just suffer in silence. I'm getting tired of it now and may have to blacklist Bethesda like the Assassin's Creed franchise because nothing changes, even when we get better hardware.

Then again, while Skyrim did have PS4 Pro support pretty quickly, it also performed worse on PS4 Pro than it did on standard PS4 systems for a while, until Bethesda patched it again. Maybe Bethesda are just keen on avoiding that same set of circumstances again, and so, are taking their time with releasing the Fallout 4 patch......well if you've gotten a theory, then you could be patient, game dev isn't scribbling people!
