Windows 10 Upgrade Guide: How To Upgrade From Windows 7, 8 or 8.1

It's not as hard as it used to be.

Windows 10 is finally out, and all reviews and indications are making it seem like the best OS on the market yet. That, plus all the clear benefits and enhancements that it offers (including to PC games), as well as the fact that it is free, should all be incentive enough to upgrade to the OS.

But Windows upgrades are a scary process usually- unlike how streamlined and easy the process is on iOS, Mac OS, or even Android, Windows upgrades can be fodder for nightmares. That isn’t necessarily the case this time, but recognizing that most of the Windows world isn’t acquainted with the upgrade process, Microsoft has released step by step guide for the process.

It’s a very easy process, and largely automated- as long as you are running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1, you just have to make sure all updates are installed, then click on the Windows 10 icon in the system tray. Reserve your free upgrade, and you will be notified when it is available, and downloaded in the background.

And that’s it, really. As always, make sure to have a full backup of your PC ready, just in case of the unlikely event that things do go south. And make sure to enjoy Microsoft’s latest and greatest offering.
