World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Announced – New Race and Class, Dragonriding, and The Dragon Isles Revealed

The new expansion features the Drachthyr Evokers with two specializations, new dungeons and Zones, and a brand new raid.

As revealed by leaks beforehand, World of Warcraft’s next expansion is called Dragonflight. Blizzard Entertainment officially announced it with a new cinematic trailer and confirmed features like a new race and class in the Drachthyr Evoker. Players can also indulge in Dragonriding and explore The Dragon Isles.

The official page notes that Drachthyr Evokers can switch between humanoid and draconic forms along with fighting for the Alliance or Horde. A new starting experience for the race is also confirmed along two specializations – Devastation, which focuses on fire breath and claw attacks, and Preservation, which is about healing and supporting allies.

As for Dragonriding, you can obtain four Drakes which are unique and customizable. There are reportedly “millions of possible combinations to choose from” and new maneuvers while flying. By finding glyphs, players can improve their Dragonriding skills and eventually undertake challenges at max level for more customization options.

This is all in addition to new Zones, a new raid to battle the Primal Incarnates, and a new level cap. One can also look forward to Professions and Crafting, a revamped HUD for personally tweaking one’s UI and a new Talent system with Class and Specialization trees. A release date hasn’t been announced for the expansion but one can opt-in for the beta now. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
