World of Warcraft User’s 6 Year Old Son Spends +476,000 Gold on Pets

The Gold amounted to 8 years worth of savings for the father.

A World of Warcraft user from China recently had his entire WoW Gold savings, which amounted to more than 476,000 Gold over 8 years, spent on several pets…because of his 6 year old.

Posting on the official WoW forums, under the title “The One Minute Consumption Ability of My 6-Year-Old Son” he said this his son has purchased several level 25 pets in an auction when his father left the page open and went to use the bathroom.

In one minute, he lost more than 476,000 gold. The son didn’t know how the auction system worked and just went with the top-most pets, which turned out to be the most expensive ones. He then sent those pets to his own level 47 account. Because capitalism, folks.

The father is quite distraught, having only 106 Gold left, and decided to be “away from the keyboard forever”. Other users expressed their condolences; one in particular, “Zongyu”, talked about how her 6 year old daughter spent 1,200 dollars on Happy Farm for the iPad.

Honestly? It’s sad. Hopefully, future users will be cautious about keeping any kind of video game purchasing power around their kids.
