World of Warcraft’s Next Expansion is Called “Dragonflight” – Rumour

Ahead of the MMORPG's next expansion's announcement later this month, details on its name seem to have leaked.

Earlier this year, Blizzard wrapped up support for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands with final update for the expansion, and with that firmly in the rearview mirror, players are curious abut what lies ahead for the MMORPG. The game’s ninth expansion is set to be revealed later this month, but ahead of that, brief details on it seem to have leaked.

As reported by Wowhead, it seems like World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is going to be the MMORPG’s next expansion, based on product IDs for the same spotted on the game’s official website. Specifically, the IDs come in three separate variants- base, epic, and heroic, suggesting that the expansion will, as usual, offer different variants for purchase at different prices. Interestingly, strings found in the website’s code also seem to hint at a green dragon mount, as well as a URL – dragonflight.blizzard.com – that is currently inaccessible.

World of Warcraft’s next expansion is going to be unveiled on April 19 (followed by a mobile Warcraft game getting its first official details in May), so we’ll know soon enough what to expect. Stay tuned for more details.
