Xbox Live to host political hub for 2012 Presidental Election

Microsoft to run for president.

A specially designed election hub will be making its way to Xbox Live at the end of this month, bringing US Presidential Election 2012 coverage straight to your console.

In partnership with Rock The Vote, NBC, YouGov and Face the Facts USA, the hub will bring services and content, including polls and even the opportunity to register for first-time voter.

Microsoft also recently conducted a survey of Xbox users’ voting habits, and of 1,678 US Xbox Live households, 40% are swing voters.

“A large, engaged but uncommitted audience, Xbox Swing Voters are a technically savvy and passionate voting bloc,” YouGov’s Douglas Rivers said of this potentially politically important group.

As a non-American, it seems like the US is always in some state of election, what with the US primaries lasting approximately 7 years a-piece, it’s a wonder they ever get round to the actual proper voting.

The Election 2012 hub goes live on 27th August.
