En route to its E3 2017 presser, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One S will be discounted to $250 (a $50 drop from its current price) starting on June 11th. Though this seems to be a way to compete with the PS4 Slim’s upcoming price cut, it remains to be seen how long it will apply.
Microsoft has other plans for E3 2017 though the Xbox One S price cut is likely to be touted. It will be showcasing Project Scorpio, its upgraded Xbox One console that can play games at native 4K, in VR and much more. Scorpio is expected to receive an official name along with a price, release date and design reveal.
Those looking for games can expect State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves. Crackdown 3 is also expected to make an appearance while 343 Industries showcases…something. It’s not Halo 6 or Halo 3 Anniversary so don’t get your hopes up for those.
Microsoft’s E3 presser will apparently run for 97 minutes, slightly longer than past years’ conferences. It begins at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET on June 11th so stay tuned for more information on the same.
