Xbox One Twitch App Updated, Now Has Recent Activity And Hub Host Mode

Twitch on Xbox One is now like Twitch on PC.

The Xbox One Twitch app has been updated; it will now include Host Mode and Activity Hubs, making the experience mimic the social livestreaming experience of the kind that we see on Twitch’s website on PC. Host Mode will see hosted channels show up in your followed directory (like they do on the website), while the Recent Activity Hub has been upgraded to include content tailored to you, including followed channels and games, recently viewed channels and games, and recommendations.

The app was updated yesterday, which means that you should be seeing the update today when you boot your Xbox up. It will make your livestreaming experience from your Xbox One much more pleasant, flexible, and powerful.

Twitch is, of course, not the only service used for livestreaming on Xbox One- uStream is supported on the system too, though of course, Twitch’s popularity means that this update was long in the coming.
