Xbox One UK Sales Up Due to Titanfall and PS4 Shortages

Microsoft rules the UK for the fourth week running but that could change very soon.

A combination of several factors helped Microsoft’s Xbox One become the best selling console in the UK for the fourth week in a row. Along with a £30 price cut with a recent bundle – which was later modified to include Titanfall – and the release of Respawn’s first person shooter, the Xbox One saw a 96 percent increase in hardware sales.

The PS4 has also been facing shortages, which allowed the Xbox One to maintain its top spot. In terms of overall lifetime sales though, Sony’s console is still firmly in control and new shipments will be arriving this week to offer a 72 percent increase in sales. There will also be enough stock for the release of Sucker Punch Productions’ inFamous: Second Son, which released on March 21st.

Titanfall meanwhile debuted on top of the UKIE game charts when it releases on March 14th in the UK according to Gfk Chart-Track. It’ll be interesting to see if it can maintain that lead, especially with inFamous: Second Son’s pre-order numbers. Stay tuned for more information.
