While i agree it did happen, the advertisement made it seem more deep…hence a bit misleading.

Don’t get me wrong. Halo 5 is probably my second favorite Halo game and that’s only because nothing will beat the nostalgia from Halo 1…but Halo 5 is not without its faults. The story had a lot of missed opportunities.

Oh the advertisement do happen…
Master Chief goes AWOL. Lock is order to hunt, track down etc. the Master Chief and find out why or find out the truth as to why he went AWOL. Simple see? No? Then that’s your problem. You where expecting them to tell you the entire story through the advertisements? lol

Halo 5 was never going to beat Halo 4 in sales. Smaller user base for Xbox One guaranteed that.

Thing is, don’t get upset. Even if Halo 5 is smaller, it’s serving the greater need of Microsoft to keep that “We got better exclusives” narrative they’ll have until next year.

That oughta sell some Xbox One’s this holiday season.

Actually, the advertisements implied a storyline that never happened in any way. Chief v Locke was not the storyline of this game.

In fact, it’s rather ironic that the basic premise of the story (ie., newbie follows vet turned rogue) is the same as Black Ops 3, except amazingly Black Ops 3 has the better take on the story.

Except of course it’s rubbish, too. It’s like saying whether a soft taco’s better than a hard shell taco at Taco Bell. One is definitively better, but neither are amazing culinary experiences.

1.5 million is only good if a Playstation game sells that many.

Exactly,I don’t know what ign was talking about when they said that bulls#@t now you got all these dumb sonyfangirls running around saying Microsoft miss led us with the halo story between lock and master chief

If it happened its not misleading. Lock is hunting Master Chief and trying to find out why he went awol.

1) Warzone is fun as hell….but 3 maps for this game mode is too little. Needs more asap.

2) While I enjoyed the story campaign…The Hunt the Truth campaign was misleading. While yes, you play as Locke “hunting” for why Master Chief goes awol…he really doesn’t “hunt” for the truth. Locke and co follow Master Chief throughout the campaign never really trying to understand why Master Chief went awol…and then without giving spoliers, the story kind of sorts itself out without Locke and co doing any detective work. The way it was marketed did more harm than good imo.

3) This gripe is sort of the continuation of point #2. In the marketing campaign, we get to see a pair of awesome teasers where they show Master Chief dying laying down and vice versa….this made a lot of people expect some big fight to happen between them in the game. Needless to say, that “big” fight that does happen, while totally awesome, was a short cut scene movie. We never actually get to fight Locke as Master Chief or vice versa in game….an enormous missed opportunity here.

Other than this, this is probably the most I have enjoyed a Halo game besides Halo 1.
