I'll just leave this here☺

Why can't destiny 2 run at 60fps...

"I mean, I'm going to wade into this, and you [Mark Noseworthy] can flesh it out," Smith said. "The console, the PS4 Pro is super powerful, but it couldn't run our game at 60. Our game's this rich physics simulation where collision of players, networking, etc, and like, it wouldn't run... [there's] not enough horsepower there."

"But there's tons of GPU power in the PS4 Pro. That's why we're doing 4K, right?" Noseworthy chimed in. ((((♠"It's on the CPU side.♦)))) Destiny's simulation, like we have more AI, more monsters in an environment with physically simulated vehicles and characters and projectiles, and it's part of the Destiny magic, like that, like 30 seconds of fun, like coming around a corner and throwing a grenade, popping a guy in the head, and then you add like five, six, seven other players in a public event; that is incredibly intensive for hardware."

*CPU is indeed the primary limiting factor and we strongly suspect that the same situation will be in place for a prospective Project Scorpio version too*

Nonsense. Consoles do not need extremely powerful CPU's. They are not running a heavy OS, neither do they have a multitude of background tasks running that steal CPU cycles. Also, gpu resource aka compute can be used to offload physics and other tasks historically taken care of by the CPU (GPGPU). The consoles also have propriety and dedicated hardware for sound processing (like the shape audio block on the x1 for example) and other dedicated hardware.

Would I like to see stronger CPU's in consoles? Yes. But it is ignorant and to say that the console CPU's have let down these devices. What let these devices down was decisions made by Microsoft/Sony to not sell at a loss this gen. On the chip side the biggest mistake was not waiting for a 14nm process from the offset. They already waited far too long as it was but to launch under powered machines at that time was stupid.

I find it intriguing how people that argue how you don't know anything about the Scorpio so you shouldn't pass judgment on it's capabilities ... are the ones that are doing just that.

Btw http://www.techradar.com/ne...

So many of the games are nothing more than patched up dx11 games and let's be honest here. Do people really think the GPU in the Scorpio and the one in the XB1 are going to support the same dx12 feature sets/tier levels? A GPU made in 2012 if not earlier is going to support dx12 and all possible new commands the same as a GPU from 2015/2016 (if not newer)?

Are people serious.

Another thing I see quite often is that people talk about the Jaguar in the Scorpio, but don't mention how MS doesn't call it that, DF does. MS has made (according to DF) quite considerable changes and they don't want to call it a Jaguar...
but yeah let's ignore that, let's rather take the word of journalist on what the CPU is, instead of the people who made it.

I never said there weren't DX12 games on Xbox one. DX12 games only pretty much started coming out last year and I think you're mis understanding something here. I wasn't talking about the API by itself but the API working along with other parts of the system. We've only seen a few games take advantage of it and those games were 1st party titles.
