If said IF Micro$oft release VR , and that will probably only work on Scorpio and leave Xboners in the cold.
Take a look at Vgcharts for the sales figures.
An Exclusive is an exclusive so of course it will sell more.Done.....

Yeah but that's the problem, you can't slip on a VR headset on everyone, stay seated and expect them to play an FPS game without getting nauseous! That was my whole point!

I can't wait for the time they actually solve this tho...

Fun fact: ginger apparently helps with motion sickness, you can even get it in pills ("jacking in"!) and whaddayaknow, Coca Cola in Australia recently introduced a Coke with ginger, haha, just drink logs of those and you should be fine!

I've never suggested it wasn't a good thing. Prior to the release of VR I was extremely excited, completely sold in fact. The idea of playing first person games with the graphics being full scale, and in proper 3D still remains an exciting prospect. Visually that would gaming perfection to me.

But it's turned out that I was never the target audience for VR. I had wrongly assumed that all the types of shooters I've played in the past would appear on VR, with the headset effectively replacing the screen, but still allowing me to play seated, with a mouse or controller. That it's brought its own variation of games, and requires standing, and using new specific controls has rendered the amazing visual enhancement pointless to me. It's a shame because I believe that VR could effectively be sold to everyone if we could simply slip on a headset and play everything we're currently playing. Stupidly I imagined that a day would come where I wouldn't play any games on a screen! So I had originally imagined it to be more than just a good thing.

The motion sickness has everything to do with how our brain processes what it sees and compares it to what else it senses and they don't correspond!

You see yourself moving but you're sitting still, that sorta thing.

Yes, bad framerates makes this way, way worse for even more people.

Thing is though, a straight up FPS game will make more people get (some) motion sickness than not. You can get used to it tho but it's not something you want as a manufacturer.

When people see a game on a TV/monitor and get motion sickness they chalk it up to themselves, when they normally do not get motion sickness with games and with a VR headset they do, they will blame the VR headset or VR in general, that's not what you want.

So VR in it's current form doesn't allow for all current genres to translate well to it, but it also allows new things, new ways to play games, new mechanics, new control methods, etc., etc. It's good they are trying this out now with smaller games then in a few years they can incorporate those things in the bigger VR games.

Then more years after that when the motion sickness can be solved completely we have all the old styles and ways of playing games but also the new.

It *is* a good thing.

In reply to <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/xbox-scorpio-has-everything-necessary-to-render-complex-shader-effects-switch-is-interesting#comment-306765">Aenea</a>.

I don't see it that way at all. If motion sickness is simply about framerate then the industry needs to ensure framerates are to a standard that proves comfortable and all but eradicates the issue.

However, as there are people who aren't suffering motion sickness it seems to suggest that this isn't entirely the issue. My opinion is if you suffer from motion sickness; tough luck, VR is not for you! I think attempting to create a whole new genre of party games, and not producing first or third person games because some people feel sick is ridiculous. It's poor business.. and I think is proving to be the case with the low uptake and lack of excitement now surrounding VR.

Some people feel sick playing first person games. Who cares!? There's always someone who has a problem with something. Industry doesn't revolve around the people who can't buy into their products. Games are like fairground rides or sports. Some people love them, some don't. Some people are physically built for them, some aren't. If fairground rides catered for those who are otherwise too scared or feel sick using them, where would they be? Two feet off the ground and travelling at five miles an hour. Same with sport. If sport had to cater for everyone's physical issues it wouldn't even exist! I can't read in a car without feeling sick. You know what, that's my problem. I don't expect the motor industry to try and resolve this issue because as a passenger I might prefer to read rather than stare out the window!

VR manufacturers and developers really need to forget about those that can't use the product and appeal to the gamers, with games, that built this industry. Maybe there's an audience for party games, but from my understanding, and the figures I see first and third person games are extremely popular and they should all be on VR; every single one of them without exception, and the manufacturers needed to work as hard at this as they do to get those exclusives and first generation of games on new consoles, for example.

However, the industry appears to have a different idea. It seems to want to create a whole new gaming format. It wants to change the way people play. It appears to think VR need not appeal to the millions of gamers who enjoy and clearly want to remain seated, and play the games they've always played. Fine. I'm a traditional, old fashioned type of gamer and have no desire for VR in its current format. If the industry changes its mind and starts putting everything out on VR, allowing me to use the controls I'm accustomed to, and remain seated, then I'll be back onboard. But I'm resigned to being one of the millions that won't be spending any money on this 'format'.
