XCOM 2 Has Already Sold Over Half A Million Copies In Five Days

Well deserved success.

Looks like Firaxis’ newest game is a hit- XCOM 2 has already sold over half a million copies in the first five days of its availability on the market, Steam game activations tracker SteamSpy reports. 563,000 copies of the game have been sold so far, for an average of over 100,000 copies sold a day- and the trend seems to be holding steady, with the game’s pace of sales not dropping at all.

It makes sense, too- XCOM: Enemy Unknown (and its expansion Enemy Within) was a great game, and XCOM 2 has been met with rave reviews, with critics remarking on its nuance and difficulty, and the intricacy of its various mechanics. Multiple critics have taken to calling XCOM 2 the greatest strategy game of all time- with praise like that, is it any wonder that the game is selling as it is?

As of right now, XCOM 2 is available on PCs, though you at least have a choice of picking up a Windows version, a Mac OS version, and a Linux version.
