XCOM 2 Patch Optimizes Performance, Addresses Issues

Zip Mode also added for increased animation speeds.

Despite receiving its fair share of critical praise, Firaxis’s XCOM 2 launched with a number of different issues last month on PC. Many of these were related to the game’s overall performance and optimization but Firaxis has remained steadfast in its desire to address the same. It recently released a huge new patch which corrects a number of issues while optimizing performnace.

Along with support for SLI and AMD Crossfire, optimization for shadows in the Avenger, reduced High Shadow Resolution and the removal of MSAA options from the default presets, the patch also adds Zip Mode. This allows animations to be speed up significantly while movement is also increased, thus making games progress faster as a whole.

There are a number of different fixes and changes especially to the gameplay that you should definitely check out here. Suffice to say, there’s plenty to go through. The patch itself is a little more than 400 MB on PC.
