Out of nowhere, Nintendo has released a mini-Direct presentation for its upcoming Switch releases. It kicked off by announcing that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition would indeed be releasing on May 29th for the console. Check out gameplay footage below which looks absolutely stellar.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition isn’t just a straight port of the Wii version. Its graphics have been remade from the ground up, offering much better sharpness and detail along with improved textures. The soundtrack has also been remastered, which is a great bonus. Gameplay improvements have been promised and it’s likely we’ll learn more about that in the coming weeks.
And if that weren’t enough, there will be a new story epilogue called “Future Connected” (which may or may not be content that was cut from the original game). Stay tuned for more details especially on the Collector’s Set that will release on the same day. More updates and breaking news from the mini-Direct is also upcoming.
