Yoshi’s Crafted World Releases in Spring 2019, Gameplay Trailer is Diorama-Rific

Check out the new art-style in depth and how courses are "flipped" to open new paths.

Nintendo’s untitled Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch has both a final name and release window courtesy of the recent Nintendo Direct. It’s Yoshi’s Crafted World, and will be out in Spring 2019. A new gameplay trailer was also showcased, and it looks even more gorgeous than we could have hoped. Check it out below.

As a side-scrolling game, Yoshi’s Crafted World will still have the traditional platforming and egg-lobbing that we’ve come to expect. However, the world is essentially one big diorama, and it’s possible to “flip” it for a whole new perspective. This can lead to different items being discovered and new paths being opened. Each course will have a “main” path to explore and a “hidden” path that contains secrets.

Yoshi’s Crafted World will also have co-op play as two players share the same screen, hopping and bopping together. Though a more specific release date wasn’t provided, that will be narrowed down closer to release. Perhaps another Nintendo Direct presentation before the year is out? We can surely hope.
