In news that will undoubtedly shock many, Konami has announced a brand new video game. Don’t get too excited, though, because it’s not a new Silent Hill, Contra, Castlevania, or Metal Gear. It’s a new Yu-Gi-Oh title, albeit one that’s fans of that franchise have probably been hoping for for a while now.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution brings the competitive card game to the Switch (so far, it is only announced for the Switch), allowing players to play with the newest rule sets called the “New Master Rules” (similar versions of Yu-Gi-Oh on other consoles have not been updated with the changes made to the rules of the game).
Right now, that is all the information we have, though more is promised in the April 2019 issue of V-Jump, which should be out later this month. So we will know more soon enough. But hey, a card game is a great fit for the Switch, so I have to imagine Yu-Gi-Oh will do well. Especially since, while developers of Hearthstone and The Elder Scrolls Legends have both expressed interest in bringing their game to Switch, right now the Switch is pretty card game-less.
