Blizzard Hasn’t Ruled Out Possibility Of Hearthstone Coming To The Nintendo Switch

While nothing is in the works as of now, Senior Game Designer Peter Whalen spoke of the possibility of the game making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

Hearthstone is a title that has been enjoying great success thanks in part due to its availability across multiple platforms. Speaking to Trusted Reviews at BlizzCon 2017, the game’s Senior Designer Peter Whalen confirmed that the move to mobile devices was a good decision, “Moving to tablets and phones was awesome. It made Hearthstone way more accessible for way, way more people, which is fantastic.”

As a portable platform then, it makes sense to also bring over the game to the Nintendo Switch. Addressing this possibility, Whalen stated, “I dunno, I don’t think anyone is working on it, but I wouldn’t rule it out either.”

The game itself should run perfectly on the Nintendo Switch since it does have a touchscreen. Additionally, the team could also enable a way for players to play the game using the Joy-Con. As one of the most successful games on mobile devices, it would make sense for Blizzard to now start thinking about working on a port to the Nintendo Switch.
