While several titles appeared in Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Preview, Thunder Lotus’s 33 Immortals was conspicuously absent. In a new tweet, the developer confirmed that its 33-player co-op action RPG has been delayed, with early access now slated for 2025.
The delay is due to needing “a little bit more time in the oven,” though “great progress” has been made. Some “unexpected” issues with stability are also being ironed out, and the team wants to address feedback accrued from its various closed betas this year.
Beyond the stated window, a release date hasn’t been set. However, there will be another “playable opportunity” on Xbox and the Epic Games Store “soon.” Perhaps it will offer a new area and boss fight, much like the second closed beta.
33 Immortals is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The story revolves around 33 damned souls who must escape from Hell and ultimately defy the deity responsible. Though progression is akin to a rogue-like, players can team up with each other to tackle dungeons and other events, similar to MMOs.
