Now that 343 Industries has brought out Halo: The Master Chief Collection and is slowly working towards improving the matchmaking and online experience, the focus will be on Halo 5: Guardians going forward. It won’t be the last game in the series by a long shot, of course, but 343 Industries general manager Bonnie Ross told Bloomberg says she wants the franchise to go on for another three decades.
“I wanted to make sure we were able to go another three decades.”
Yes, three decades. It was later confirmed to GameSpot that Ross wanted both the franchise and 343 Industries to last 30 years. Keep in mind that 343 Industries was formed in 2007 so that would mean a Halo title coming out in 2037. Ross also confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians is not part of the Reclaimer Trilogy as originally planned but that the story has now been expanded into a saga.
“While we originally said trilogy, we’ve actually expanded this to more of a saga, so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”
